![]() ![]() and then that goes away and I'm ok again. When I'm coming out of it I feel quite confused for a few minutes, as I'm trying to figure out things like what time and day it is, what I'm doing, am I late for work, etc. I'm told I will often be surprised when they'll tell me I have epilepsy. But after, I don't remember that this happened I just have to go by what I'm told. Then I seem somewhat normal to others, but can't retain anything in the time period, so I ask the same questions over and over again. I start to have the seizure, and am out of it for a couple minutes, but still upright. Mine are similar in some respects, but not all. This is new for me just got the EEG results last week, and I go to the neurologist for my follow-up in 10 days, so will have better info at that time. ![]() During the first few minutes of recovery, I'm always astonished when hubby tells me it's happened before, though I do remember in time. My seizures are 10-20 minutes, and takes about 10 minutes after for my long-term memories to fill in. My husband says I'm still "me", but I act confused. I'm aware one second, then without warning my brain has "left the building". The main thing is that you cannot form memories while the seizure is happening. The last two times, I didn't know if my parents were still alive (they are not, so when I recovered those memories, I suffered the grief of their deaths all over again). Another time, I couldn't remember where I work. Once, I couldn't remember where I keep my socks. The memories you can't access are strangely arbitrary, at least for me. As soon as the seizure subsides, memory returns within minutes.
